How did you get into padel and how did you hear about it?
I started playing padel at my club in Spain when I was 14 years old. In Spain it is the biggest sport right now so everybody was playing it when I was I child.
What do you love about padel? Compared to tennis?
I love the fact that there are 4 people playing at the same time. That makes it more exciting. But mostly what I love most about padel is the amount of shots and variety during a rally.
Do you have a favourite pro player?
It's so easy to say but probably Tapia. He's so talented, so athletic and fast. I love watching him play.
What are your current tournament plans?
Our idea is to play as much as we can around Auckland and NZ, and then try to travel around the Pacific such as Tahiti to compete there. Ideally we are looking to be the top ranked padel players in NZ.
What are your goals for padel in New Zealand and beyond?
As I said, we are trying to be the #1 players in NZ and the Pacific, so in 2028 we can try to go to the Olympics.
What is your favourite shot?
My favourite shot is the combination of the chiquita and volley. That means hitting a short shot to the opponents feet so they have to hit it up, then getting to the net quickly and finishing the point with the volley.
What is your favourite Siux racket?
I only have one answer for that: The Siux Electra ST2 Hybrid. I fell in love with it the moment I tried it! It works really well with my style of play. It gives me control when I need it, and power for the smashes.
